Unofficial and Libelous

Exhibition Piece: Unlike the College Magazine, this is not an official publication, but rather one for the staff’s amusement. It is a colourful, hand-drawn cartoon booklet that jokes about staff gossip and rumours from across the College.

This is a tongue-in-cheek staff newsletter from 1952.  Handwritten and illustrated by the mysterious 'staff-artist', it offers a touching insight into the lives of those who worked in the college in 1952.  We learn that Ms Biggs' mother is recovering well from a gall-stone, that Gert takes his "sweet trilling laugh" with him upon departing the college, and that the building of the warden's new house on college grounds was the subject of much discussion among staff members.
