The IDEAL Plaque

Exhibition Piece: A wooden plaque that was created for the IDEAL unit at Impington Village College by former students. All the students' names are etched in, as well as that of their teacher involved: Zac, Rebecca, Jodie, Jack, Becs and Mr Lycett.

By Julie Williams, IDEAL; IVC

This wooden plaque is placed in the entrance to the IDEAL building to welcome visitors.  The letters engraved on the wood represent the aspirations, ethos and spirit of IDEAL:

  • Independence
  • Decision making
  • Enterprise
  • Access to employment
  • Leisure and learning

The plaque itself has been made by former IDEAL students as part of a link course with Cambridge Regional College.

The IDEAL course sets students on an exciting journey to acquire new skills which enable them to lay the foundations for the rest of their lives, and the plaque reminds every student what they can achieve by working together.
