Swimming Pool
Exhibition Piece: The two images displayed show the outdoor pool which was constructed in 1973, and the indoor pool which was opened in 1995. They can be compared and contrasted on a number of features, including size and location.
The old outdoor swimming pool at Impington Village College was built and inaugurated in 1973. The indoor pool, which opened on 16th September 1995, was partially built on the site of the outdoor pool.
The photographs represent the progression and development of the Sports Centre facilities at Impington Village College. The pool hall was increased in size as part of the Sports Centre development which opened in September 2010, and there are a variety of different activities on offer related to the swimming pool, including aquafit, swim club and instructed lessons.
